Southern Idaho is full of neat pubs that have a personality all their own and are beloved by locals. One eatery and bar that has the distinction of being one of oldest operating establishments in the state--if not the oldest--is located just a gem stone's throw to one of the most beautiful parks in all of Idaho.

Thousand Springs State Park is the home of Ritter Island. There is an annual art festival that takes place there every September, and in the summer months it's one of the best places to picnic and kayak at. The natural springs and waterfalls at the park make for one of the most stunning backdrops you'll find anywhere in Idaho.

A good deal of the people that head to the park throughout any given week pass right by Wilson's Club, located less than three miles from the entrance to Thousand Springs State Park. According to the Hagerman Valley Chamber of Commerce, Wilson's Club was build in 1931 and has been operating since 1943, and is reported to be the oldest continually operating pub in the Gem State.

Wilson's offers live music Friday and Saturday evenings, as well as billiards (free on Mondays), shuffleboard, darts, karaoke, music bingo, open mic, and delicious wood-fired oven pizza, with a heated patio for those that want to enjoy the weather. Their Bloody Mary's are supposed to be incredible too.

They also have a very energetic and 'amazing' staff, according to one glowing review I recently came across on Craigslist. Well, this review, was apparently aimed at one staffer in particular.

Next time you're in Hagerman, stop into Wilson's Club, at 200 South State Street.
