Perfect Weather For Oct 4 Saturn Viewing Across Idaho
Idaho fans of outer space will want to have some binoculars ready this weekend as the ringed planet Saturn will come into view from the East and will be opposite the sun providing clear images with the use of viewing tools.
During your average year, Saturn is between 700,000,000 and slightly over one billion miles from the Earth, depending on orbits around the sun, according to space.com. This is why anytime earthlings have an opportunity to view the majestic celestial body, every effort should be made.
This weekend, the weather forecast (so far) will be exceptional for star and planet gazing in southern Idaho. Conditions are calling for mostly clear skies to date, according to Accuweather.
Saturn's Impending Opposition From The Sun Will Allow Clear Viewing Of The Planet On Sunday

Saturn will be illuminated by the sun all day Sunday (October 4) and will be at its closest orbital position from the Earth, allowing for great viewing of the planet in the Gem State, according to Idaho Mountain Express.

Saturn will be roughly 780,000,000 miles from Earth on Sunday during the opposition, according to Earth Sky. A standard pair of binoculars should be sufficient for getting a good look at the second largest planet, and sixth from the sun, on Sunday.
Let's keep fingers crossed we don't get an unexpected low pressure system passing through southern Idaho this weekend to screw up chances to see what might be the second most beautiful planet in our solar system.
Happy viewing!
