Ugh. Spring Has Sprung, and Now Idaho Must Clean
Spring is here. No more starting the car to defrost while scraping the windshield. After overcoming the clock change time lag, the most dreaded period of the season begins…Spring Cleaning.
Why? Why do we torture ourselves this way? What is it about Spring that makes us need to clean? Since it has to be done anyway, what are some chores that have been neglected as we hibernated?
Inside Chores That Have Been Neglected
Get on a ladder and get the cobwebs out of the corners, and give the ceiling fan a once-over.
Your pantry has been raided all winter, and now is the time to clean out the food you didn’t use. Donate anything that hasn’t expired and get rid of what has.
After dusting the blinds, open them to see how dirty the windows are. Might as well break out the squeegee. Windows inside and out need special attention.
Outside Chores to Get Done Before it Gets Too Hot
Hurry, the window of opportunity to get Spring chores done closes quickly. Get these outside chores done before you regret it.
Cleaning canine land mines is never a pleasant task. The ice in the backyard has melted and you’re going to want to get it before the heat brings out an unpleasant aroma and bugs. Just gotta do it, or perhaps pay someone else to.
After the grass is cleared of bombs, aerating is a wise choice. Some services can do this for you, but maybe just throw on the special shoes and walk the lawn while you rake up dead grass, old leaves, and pinecones.
It doesn't stink now, but it will plague you all summer. Hose down the trash cans after the next trash day and feel like the first day you moved in.
Gotta detail the car. Even a home detail is important. Get all the grime, cracker crumbs, old receipts, and broken toy pieces cleaned out. After a good wipe-down, the car is ready for all the road trips to make things sticky and stinky for the summer.
