Disc golf is a fast-growing sport and has become a favorite pastime for many. It is a relaxing game, that is easy to play and fun. It is affordable, which seems to help as well. When moving to Twin Falls, one of the first things I looked up was how many and where the disc golf courses were.

After my first failed attempt to play the day prior, I finally was able to get a round in at the College of Southern Idaho course. It took me a little bit to find the first hole, but that was because I parked in the wrong place. After asking a couple of fellow disc golfers, I found the hole and was able to start my round.

My first thought was, there is a building blocking the hole, but I was able to maneuver around it and finish with a par. The course is beautiful, but a little confusing. I have an app on my phone to keep score, and it directs you to the next whole, but some of the tee boxes were a little difficult to find.

The course I would say is medium in the difficulty department. It rides along a stream in the park and if you have a shot slip away, it is easy to find your disc in the water. The trees cause the biggest obstacles, but they are the right placements to make holes more difficult and others more open. There are a couple of par 4's on the back 9 to test the distance you can throw. The course seems to be well balanced out and it is one of the prettier courses I have seen in some time.

It started to rain as I approached the 4th hole, but the trees supplied a decent amount of cover and the rain didn't affect my game too much. Overall, I ended that day at 3 over par, which I consider a good round for the first time on a course. I look forward to getting familiar with this course and playing it more going forward.

If you are looking to get out and play a round before the cold rolls in, I highly recommend the course at CSI. It will supply some challenges but not enough where you will get frustrated. The course doesn't require you to be a great player, but to have at least some experience. Beginners may struggle a little, but shouldn't lose any discs on this course. So get your discs, head out and enjoy a beautiful course and nice area before it is too late in the year. Who knows, maybe we can play together.
