4 Moose in Idaho Got Too Comfortable at a School
Idaho is home to some incredible wildlife, and it's not uncommon to see wild animals in the Gem State from time to time. Sometimes, you see a deer, a raccoon, or something small, and other times, you see something larger, such as an elk or a deer, or even something more dangerous. Typically, you will see these when out driving, camping, or perhaps hiking. From time to time, you may see one make its way close to town or even through downtown. Typically, these animals will get scared and go back elsewhere, sadly, get hit by a car, or are often relocated. Then there are occurrences where they get comfortable. Four moose have gotten a little too comfortable at one school in Idaho and have been enjoying themselves.
Four Moose Get Comfortable at Idaho School
Have you ever been walking across campus and seen a moose or four lying around, getting comfortable? This was reality recently at the College of Idaho. One bull, a cow, and two calves decided to call the campus home for a short bit, having adjusted to college life very well. While it may take some students time to adjust to college, apparently, these moose didn't take long at all. While they are amazing animals to look at and students and faculty enjoyed seeing them, there was a concern over safety as moose are known to be aggressive animals, and it could cause a problem for those walking across campus. While the moose enjoyed a short stay, they needed to be removed from campus.
Moose Moved From College of Idaho
To avoid any conflicts between animals and humans, and for the safety of the moose, the students, and the staff, the moose were moved off campus and put back into a more suitable environment for them. Idaho Fish and Game was able to successfully relocate the beasts by using darts and then transporting them to a remote location. They were not harmed in the process and are doing fine in a place that better suits their lifestyle.
