Two Major Grocery Store Chains to Close All Locations on Thanksgiving in Seattle This Year
Thanksgiving is fast approaching, and it has many stressed about hosting the best meal of the year. It can be a stressful time as family, friends, and in-laws make their way to your home and you have to make sure everyone is taken care of and happy. There is always that fear of messing up someone's favorite dish, but also forgetting something. The grocery list is long when it comes to Thanksgiving, and it is easy to forget something. The closer you wait to the holiday to do grocery shopping, the bigger the chance gets that stores might be out of an item that you need. It isn't uncommon to have to make a late run to the grocery store, but if you are hoping to send someone on Thanksgiving to pick up one item, you might be out of luck. Two major grocery stores will be closed on Thanksgiving in Seattle this year, so you better get everything you need the day before.
Trader Joe's Closed on Thanksgiving in Seattle
While not the biggest grocery chain in the country, Trader Joe's is still a pretty popular one, and Seattle is home to six different locations. The store is often crowded and typically leans more on the healthy side. It is a popular option to get food for Thanksgiving, but make sure you have everything before the holiday, as it will not be an option to stop by on the day of. Most Trader Joe's customers are aware that the store is never open on Thanksgiving, but for those who are new to shopping at the store, or live conveniently near one, it won't be an option if you need last-minute things.
Walmart Closed on Thanksgiving in Seattle
Walmart has long been open on Thanksgiving, and used to be one of the most popular places to go on Thanksgiving, but not for grocery shopping. They have been open for Black Friday shopping, although it started Thursday evening. It also made for a great place to stop if someone needed to pick up a pie on the way to someone's house or some ingredients that may have been forgotten. In 2020 that all changed, when Walmart announced they would be closed on Thanksgiving, and has continued to do so since. If you plan on stopping by to pick up dessert or have it as an emergency option on the holiday, you are out of luck.
Make sure to get everything you need before Thanksgiving day this year, or have alternative options to stop at if Trader Joe's or Walmart are your main grocery stores. It is best to double and triple check you have everything the day before, because the last thing you want to do is ruin someone's favorite dish because you couldn't make a last-second grocery run.
