Many of us drive past a library every day but rarely stop at it. With audiobooks, online shopping, and the ability to download copies of books, libraries aren't as populated as they use to be. Many of us think of them as only books, but they are much more than that. They have entertainment, programs, and are a vital part of every community. One library in the Magic Valley has been getting upgraded and is ready to roll for the summer and beyond.

The library in Buhl has been working on improvements over the last year and is ready to reveal them to the community. While they offer books, as most libraries do, they offer much more to the community. You can also rent video games, magazines, sheet music, movies, and more. They have a snow cone machine that can be checked out for any parties or events you have, a cotton candy machine, board games, sports balls, equipment if you need to rent some, and much more that you likely wouldn't expect a library to have. They offer free printing, faxing, computer access, Wi-Fi, a meeting room if you need one, and more. They even have a 3D printer you can use.

The library also offers activities and programs. Every Wednesday at 10 AM they do story time, which also includes songs and a fun craft project. This is a great way to get your little ones out of the house, especially this summer. The Buhl Library offers lock-ins for children and adults. Children 12 to 18 get to play video games, board games, make crafts, and enjoy snacks. For adults, it is a great way to make new friends, and you must be 17 or older. They will get to play cards, board games, chess, and more. For those that want to join a book club, there is one that meets on the second Thursday of each month at 7 PM. There are book sales throughout the year and also after-school programs during the year for children 5 to 13. Residents of Buhl can get a library card for free, whereas residents elsewhere can get an annual one for $35 or a temporary one, that will last three months, for $10.
