Murdered Couple’s Ghosts Said To Wander Idaho Woods At Night
Like many states, Idaho has a vast number of acres of backcountry containing the graves of homesteaders and pioneers from past centuries. One community prides itself on a particular story involving a couple who met an unfortunate fate shortly after developing a romantic relationship.
The former mining community of Bonanza, Idaho, has dwindled in size over the past 150 years from a handful or two to zero residents. This is because Bonanza is what educators of American history would refer to as a 'ghost town.' If you chat with people in surrounding communities such as Challis, the names Elizabeth ('Lizzie') King and Robert may come up.
As the story goes, the two developed a union shortly after Elizabeth's husband passed away. A love triangle ensued, and the surviving man was never heard from again following the murders of the other two in the equation.
