Two Juveniles Arrested in Connection to Gooding County Homicide
The Gooding County Sheriff's Office, working alongside the Jerome Police Department, executed search warrants at two locations in Jerome today, uncovering key evidence in a months-long homicide investigation.
Victim Identified as Dax Richins
Authorities have identified the victim as 18-year-old Dax Richins, whose remains were discovered in a shallow grave in Gooding County on September 21, 2024. Investigators believe Richins was fatally stabbed on or about June 23, 2024, in southeast Gooding County near Wendell. He was buried at the site of the attack.
Juvenile Suspects in Custody
Through a detailed investigation, law enforcement identified two suspects, aged 15 and 17, who were arrested today in connection with the crime. Due to their ages, the names of the suspects have not been released. Both juveniles are currently detained at the Snake River Detention Center, awaiting further legal proceedings.

While investigators have developed a motive for the stabbing, they are continuing to gather details about the events surrounding Richins' death.
