ISP reported that the accident happened at 11:48 on Tuesday morning on State Highway 46 at milepost 91, west of Twin Falls and south of Wendell.
A 1994 Kenworth truck with a trailer, driven by a 44-year-old male from Mexico, was northbound on SH46 when he failed to yield to traffic that was slowed in the area. The Kenworth struck the rear of a 2007 Freightliner truck with a trailer, driven by a 24-year-old male from Twin Falls. The Freightliner then struck the rear of a 1995 Chevrolet Tahoe, driven by a 66-year-old male from Hagerman. The Chevrolet struck the rear of a 2001 Ford F250 pickup pulling a trailer, driven by a 26-year-old male from Eden.
The report from Idaho State Police states that the driver of the Tahoe was the only injury reported and they were taken by ambulance to the hospital with ‘non-life-threatening injuries’. Milepost 91 on State Highway 46 is a few feet north of where the highway crosses the Snake River Canyon.
The accident today was the 3rd dangerous crash involving semi-trucks this week. The previous 2 each had a fatality and, while all 3 accidents are still being investigated, each crash appears to have been caused by the truck drivers.
