I don’t have a Costco membership and I’ve only been inside one of their warehouses a few times.

Costco has a cult-like following of members who will only shop there and even plan vacation rentals around Costco locations. But even I know that the new change to the food court menu announced only a few hours ago will anger many of their members.

The change was announced in a shareholder's meeting recently, and while the food court change won’t affect the beloved hotdogs or pizza slices, it could possibly make you want to skip getting the drink.

Costco Announces That They Will No Longer Serve Pepsi in Idaho Food Courts

The seemingly small change will have a huge impact on soda drinkers. Costco is replacing Pepsi with Coca-Cola.

There are some people who like both Coke and Pepsi, but the love for one or the other is as cult-ish as the love of Costco. I drink Pepsi because Coke is gross and leaves a weird feeling on my teeth.

So, while someone like me who only drinks Pepsi will be disgusted by the change, there are many on the other side who are ecstatic that they can now get Coke. Or, more importantly for many, they can get Diet Coke. The change is expected to happen this summer.

Is the change a big enough issue that even at $1.50 for the hot dog and drink meal, you won’t eat there anymore? Or with Coke on the menu will you be eating there more often?
