Burger King used to use the ‘have it your way’ slogan, and it looks like the way people want the Whopper is different than how BK had been making it for the last decade. Based on feedback from customers, Burger King has made three key changes to the famous burger.

It’s still a delicious flame-broiled burger, but this is the first real change to the Whopper in the last decade. Even if you don’t like the Whopper, you’ll appreciate one of the changes they made to how the burger is packaged.

Burger King Has Changed the Whopper in Idaho for the First Time in Nearly a Decade

It’s interesting that the BK statement claims they based the changes on customer feedback, while other sources refer to that feedback as ‘complaints’. Either way, this is the first time they have changed the Whopper in the last 10 years, if you don’t count all the variations of the Whopper you can order from their menu.

Technically, there are a variety of Whoppers if you count the Maple Bourbon BBQ Whopper, Impossible Whopper, Ultimate Steakhouse Whopper, and the Double Whopper.

But these new changes aren’t a reinvention of the Whopper; they are the first real changes to the original Whopper. So the burger should still taste like the Whopper you know, but it will look different from the bun to the packaging.

Burger King Confirms Three Massive Whopper Changes in Idaho

Possibly the most important change is that the Whopper will now come in a box instead of the thin paper wrapping. This ensures you don’t get a smashed Whopper, which is also important because one of the other changes is the use of a ‘more premium, better tasting’ and probably better looking bun. You don’t want those pretty buns getting squished.

The third change seems less important, since I’m not a mayo snob, but they are upgrading the mayo to a better-tasting mayo. The new Whopper will be stacked tall with freshly cut onions and tomatoes, crisp lettuce, and tangy pickles, according to the press release on February 26th. Check out this review of the new Whopper vs the old one.

Do you think these three changes are worth all the hype, or is that all it is: hype?

H/T to the HVP for the story idea and initial information about the whopping Whopper changes.
