The countdown to Turkey Day is on! One of the things you’re probably looking forward to the most? The delicious smells and tastes that come with the Thanksgiving feast. While we know that nothing can beat a good home cooked meal, sometimes a traditional holiday dinner just isn’t in the cards. That’s perfectly okay. 

For my husband and me, Thanksgiving has become our one day of rest before the Christmas season completely takes over our lives. For us, the holidays revolve around holiday events and charitable causes across the Treasure Valley and it all kicks into high gear on Black Friday. We’re grateful for the opportunity to be part of these extremely meaningful events, but between the two of us? We’re barely home for six weeks straight.

With no family west of the Mississippi, we’ve created our own traditions. That's meant ordering a small smoked turkey from R&R Barbecue and the Just the Sides” pack they offer. It’s just enough for us and our other misfit friends who come over to not only enjoy dinner, but take home some leftovers for themselves.
