
The Most Heavy Metal Pepper You Can Grow In Idaho
June is the month where most in Idaho who have a green thumb have their gardens looking good and are adding some final plants to the property to enjoy for the next three to four months before the weather changes and forces us to cover, or conceal, our labor of love.
We are going big in the pepper department in our garden this spring and summer. At last count, we have about five to six varieties in the dirt already.
One jumbo pepper I came across this week at a Twin Falls nursery that's apparently great for stuffing inside some bacon and tossing it on the grill screamed "Walk" at me, which I ignored. Instead, I stopped in my tracks and grabbed one to add to our spicy repertoire in the backyard.

How have I never heard of the Pantera pepper? The plant, and the former Grammy-nominated metal band, have nothing to do with each other it turns out. The band derived its name from a form of the word 'panta,' which means panther, according to Sirius XM.

We got the last plant from the nursery we went by Tuesday afternoon, but there are probably several places you can still pick one up as a last minutes addition to your garden if you want to truly 'metal' it out.
