Hillary Lindsey, Lori McKenna and Liz Rose won the 2016 Grammy Awards Best Country Song honor, for the song "Girl Crush," performed by Little Big Town.

The award came immediately after LBT accepted Best Country Duo / Group Performance, also for "Girl Crush," during the pre-telecast Premiere Ceremony. The songwriters immediately thanked the group for which they wrote the song.

"We have to thank Little Big Town, the most amazing band that we've been able to work with -- the nicest people in the whole world," they said.

The three songwriters thanked their families, the Recording Academy and Jason Owens, among others.

"We're so grateful to everybody and all the other songwriters that were nominated," Lindsey, McKenna and Rose said. "We're just so humbled to be up here with you guys."

The songwriters also thanked each other, speaking highly of collaboration: "There's nothing like the ability to be able to share the love of music with someone that you love."

The year's other nominees for Best Country Song were Hayes Carll's "Chances Are," performed by Lee Ann Womack; Barry Dean, Luke Laird and Jonathan Singleton's "Diamond Rings and Old Barstools," performed by Tim McGraw; Brandy Clark and Mark Stephen Jones' "Hold My Hand," performed by Clark; and Chris Stapleton's "Traveller," performed by Stapleton.
