11 Fun Events this Weekend Across the Magic Valley

The days for shopping are dwindling and time is running out. There are less than two weeks to go before Christmas, with only this weekend and next to get everything done. It's time to start your shopping if you haven't and start wrapping gifts if you are done. It's time to begin baking those cookies and holiday treats that need to be made. While there is a ton to do before the big day gets here, it is important to take some time for yourself have fun, and enjoy the holiday season. There are a plethora of events happening this time of year and tons to do and see this weekend in the Magic Valley, so take a break and go out and have some fun this weekend.

Thursday, December 14 Through Saturday, December 16 - Burley Straw Maze

Are you bummed that the straw mazes from fall and Halloween time have gone away? Do not fret, you can still go to the Burley Straw Maze and get lost, but this time with Christmas lights in the maze. Lost in Christmas is now open on weekends, and will be open Thursday through Saturday from 5 PM to 10 PM all three nights. Admission is $8 per person, but there is more than just the maze. There are also wagon rides, the swing ride, Christmas trees, if you still need one, a bull ride, and of course food. Thursday, December 14 Through Saturday, December 16 - Living Nativity

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be at the first Christmas? To see Jesus born all those years ago and to be in the manger? You can go back in time this weekend and experience the Living Nativity in Twin Falls, as you go back to Bethlehem and see how things were all those years ago. The Living Nativity will be happening this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM all three nights at 1267 Madrona Street North. The event is free, but everyone is encouraged to bring a canned food item, that will be donated to food banks in the area. Friday, December 15 & Saturday, December 16 - Grandy's Christmas Craft Show

The number of days left to shop is winding down, and it is time to begin if you haven't or finish if you are close, but where to go? How about shopping local and attending one of the many Christmas and holiday shows taking place this season? Grandy's Christmas Craft Show is back this weekend for the third consecutive weekend and the final one for this year. It will be taking place out in Buhl on Friday and Saturday from 8:30 AM to 6 PM at Snake River Sprinklers. For more details, click on the link above.

Friday, December 15 - Kid's Christmas Shop

Do your kids still need to get a gift for their siblings, their mom, or their dad? Perhaps they are getting to that age that they want to do the shopping on their own. Well, this Friday they can in Buhl at the Kid's Christmas Shop. Collective Studio in Buhl, located at 115 Broadway Street, will be closing the store to the public from 3 PM to 7 PM on Friday for kids to shop for Christmas. There will be a seating area for parents, so kids can go and browse and shop and pick something out all on their own. The event is $20 per child, and that will include 15 'Santa Bucks,' to buy their gift, plus they will wrap it, sign a card, enjoy a hot cocoa bar, Christmas music, and do a mini craft in Santa's workshop. Friday, December 15, and Saturday, December 16 - Magic Valley Chorale Concert

One of the best parts about the holiday season is Christmas music, and while it is great to hear on the radio and in stores, there is something magical about hearing it in person. The Magic Valley Chorale will be holding their Christmas concert this weekend, with two chances to attend. There will be a show this Friday at 7:30 PM, and one on Saturday at 2 PM. The concerts will take place at the CSI Fine Arts Center. Friday, December 15 and Saturday, December 16 - CSI Men's Basketball

Perhaps you want to escape all the holiday festivities and enjoy some live sports this weekend. The CSI Men's Basketball team is back in action at home this Friday and Saturday, as they host Utah Prep on Friday and Eastern Wyoming College on Saturday, both at 7 PM in the Hilex Poly/Physicians Immediate Care Tourney. Thursday, December 14 - Saturday, December 16 - 'A Christmas Story' The Musical

'A Christmas Story' is one of the most watched Christmas movies every year in Idaho, and is a classic. While watching the movie is great, how would you like to see the musical, live? 'A Christmas Story' The Musical will be performed this weekend at the Orpheum Theatre in Twin Falls. There will be three shows this weekend, with one on Thursday, one on Friday, and one on Saturday, with all shows starting at 7 PM. Tickets start as low as $17.50. Saturday, December 16 - Free Learn to Ski Day

Are you someone who has been wanting to ski or snowboard for years, but has never actually gone? Perhaps it was too expensive, or you are too embarrassed to try and learn. This weekend is the weekend you have been waiting for, as it will be Free Learn to Ski Day at Pomerelle this Saturday. You must be 7 or older, and these lessons are for 'never-evers,' meaning you have never ever tried to ski or snowboard. You must register in advance by clicking the link above, and check-in will be at 9 AM on Saturday. Lessons will begin at 10:30 AM and last about an hour and a half. Saturday, December 16 - Stories with Santa

Santa is busy this time of year preparing for Christmas, but he always seems to make time for the kiddos in the area. This Saturday he will be at the Twin Falls Public Library for Stories with Santa from 11 AM to 1 PM. Enjoy an indoor story walk, fun activities, and story time with the big man. Saturday, December 16 and Sunday, December 17 - Southern Idaho Shootout

Do you have a good shot? Do you think you are the most accurate shooter in the Magic Valley? Prove it this weekend at the Southern Idaho Shootout, or go and watch some of the best shooting around. The shootout will be taking place both Saturday and Sunday, at 251 Main Ave East in Twin Falls. The shootout begins at 3 PM on Saturday and at 10 AM on Sunday. Saturday, December 16 - Cow Pokes for Christmas

Rupert is known as Christmas City, and every weekend something is going on throughout the holiday season. This Friday you will want to head out to the Historic Wilson Theater to enjoy Christmas the cowboy way with Cow Pokes for Christmas.
