Have Fun at These 9 Events The First Weekend of December in the Magic Valley

December has arrived, meaning the next month will be filled with holiday festivities, events, and fun. The Magic Valley doesn't wait, and despite being the first weekend of December, there are a handful of holiday events happening and plenty to get you into the holiday spirit. Don't be a Grinch and miss out on the fun this weekend, when you can attend one or multiple of the fun events happening in the Magic Valley.

Thursday, December 5 - Filer Light Parade

The Magic Valley is the best place for holiday parades, and Filer will have one of the first of the season. The Filer Light Parade will be happening this Thursday and will begin at 5:30 PM. Thursday, December 5 - Christmas Card Water Color Class

The Historic Wilson Theatre in Rupert will be a busy place this weekend. It starts this Thursday with a Christmas Card Water Color Class happening at 7 PM. This is your chance to make a handmade card for someone special and work on your watercolor skills. Tickets for the class are $40, and all supplies are included with a ticket. Friday, December 6 and Saturday, December 7 - Grandy's Christmas Craft Show

One of the best holiday events in the Magic Valley is back this year, and it comes with a few changes. Grandy's Christmas Craft Show will once again be held in Buhl at Snake River Sprinklers, but this year it will be open daily, beginning this Friday. The show will be open this weekend Friday and Saturday from 9 AM to 5 PM, but be closed on Sunday before opening for the remainder of next week. Friday, December 6 & Saturday, December 7 - Those Two Chicks Holiday Bazaar

There isn't only one holiday shopping event that happens each year, as Those Two Chicks Holiday Bazaar will also be back this weekend, and taking place on Friday and Saturday. The bazaar will be taking place at the Twin Falls County Fairgrounds in Filer and will be open from 2 PM to 7 PM on Friday and from 10 AM to 4 PM on Saturday. Friday, December 6 - Twin Falls Festival of Lights Parade

One of the best holiday traditions in the Magic Valley returns this weekend, and it is the Festival of Lights Parade. This annual parade is a tradition for many families and is a highlight of the holiday season each year. Make sure to bundle up as it will be cold, and line up and down Main Street in Twin Falls to enjoy the Light Parade. Saturday, December 7 - 12th Annual Chobani Community Giveaway

It is back. The annual Chobani Community Giveaway will be happening once again this year at CSI. It will take place this Saturday, beginning at 8:30 AM, and will go until noon or while supplies last. This is a free event and a drive-thru one, as you drive through the Fine Arts parking lot, receive a free case of yogurt, and drive off. Saturday, December 7 - 18th Annual St Nicholas Festival

If you want to get into the holiday spirit this weekend, make sure to head on out to Kimberly and enjoy the 18th annual St Nicholas Festival happening this Saturday, beginning at 3:30 PM and going until 6:30 PM. The festival takes place on Main in Kimberly and includes handmade nativity scenes, food, live musical performances, entertainment, the story of St Nicholas, and ends with fireworks. Saturday, December 7 - Sugar Cookie Cut-Out Class

The holidays are often filled with plenty of time in the kitchen making Christmas cookies, but if you aren't the best baker and could use a little help, make sure to sign up and attend the Sugar Cookie Cut-Out Class at Rudy's this Saturday in Twin Falls. Saturday, December 7 - Bar D Wranglers

The Historic Wilson Theatre in Rupert will host a second event this weekend, when on Friday it will host Bar D Wranglers, beginning at 7:30 PM. From Durango, Colorado, the Bar D Wranglers will entertain you with their old-west music and comedy show, which is a fun time for the whole family.
