7 Events to Have Fun the First Weekend of February in the Magic Valley
The first month has come to an end, and the calendar will flip to February this weekend. The snow has melted and the weather has been pleasant this past week, making it more enjoyable to get out. Next weekend will be packed with things to do for the Super Bowl, Home and Garden Show, and other things going on, leaving this weekend open for many to find something to fill their time. Thursday, February 1 - Death By Chocolate
What better way to start your weekend than ending up in a chocolate coma? Death By Chocolate is back this year and will be taking place Thursday night at the Canyon Crest Event Center. The event will begin at 6 PM and last until 9 PM, and during that time you can eat as much chocolate as your stomach can handle. Tickets are $25 at the door, or $20 if you get them in advance. Thursday, February 1 Through Saturday, February 3 - 'The Play That Goes Wrong'
How about getting out of town for a bit this weekend, and taking a drive to Rupert and going to the Historic Wilson Theatre? While you are there you can enjoy the comedy play 'The Play That Goes Wrong.' The play is a murder mystery with a cast of characters that will have you laughing throughout the performance. Friday, February 2 and Saturday, February 3 - Galentine's Vendor Event
Every so often women need a girl's day, and this Saturday presents a great opportunity when Gal Pal Collective holds Galentine's Vendor Event. The event will be taking place this Friday and Saturday at the Twin Falls Fairgrounds in Filer. Doors will be open on Friday from 10 AM to 7 PM and on Saturday from 10 AM to 5 PM. Saturday, February 3 - Quilt of Valor National Sew Day
There are many in the Magic Valley that enjoy sewing, and not only enjoy it but are incredibly good at it. This weekend marks National Sew Day and in honor of the day Quilt of Valor is holding an event this weekend to sew quilts for veterans and active military. The event will be free and will be happening in Twin Falls at the American Legion, located at 447 Seastrom Street. Saturday, February 3 - Twin Falls Cake Classes
Cake is delicious to eat and fun to make, but have you ever wanted to work on your cake-making skills? Do you have a child that enjoys being in the kitchen and baking? There are multiple cake classes taking place this week in Twin Falls, and this is the perfect time to work on your decorating skills. The classes will be this Saturday at the Little Red Schoolhouse in Twin Falls. The first class is from 10:30 AM to 11 AM and is for children 3 to 11. The second class in the day is from 1:30 PM to 3 PM and is for all ages. The final class of the day is from 6 PM to 8 PM and is for adults only. Classes differ on cost. Saturday, February 3 - E-Game Night
How good are you at playing video games? If you think you are one of the best in the area, or perhaps the best, then you will want to make your way to Happy Hour in Filer this weekend for E-Game Night. The event begins at noon, and this week they will be playing Mario Kart 8. The entry fee is $25 and there is a pot of $500 to be won. You must be 21 or older to attend and participate. Saturday, February 3 - Twin Falls Optimist Club 'Lost Wages Fundraiser'
It can be a drag driving down to Jackpot every time you want to have a little fun gambling and playing the tables. This weekend you don't have to as you can have fun playing casino games and helping a good cause. This Saturday is the annual Lost Wages Fundraiser put on by the Twin Falls Optimist Club. The event is taking place at the Twin Falls County Fairground in Filer beginning at 7 PM. The event will have casino-style games, raffles, a silent auction, and much more. Tickets are $30 per person or two for $50. The proceeds go towards helping programs such as Coats for Kids, Youth Support Services, and various activities.
