7 Events to Have Fun in the Magic Valley the Final Weekend of January

The weather has finally warmed up, the snow has melted and it is possible to get out of the house once again. Odds are you have been stuck inside far too much this month and are itching to get outside. While there is football to watch and chores likely to be done at home, take a break from it all and get outside and have some fun at one of the many events taking place this weekend in the Magic Valley. Here is what there is to do and help get you out of the house this weekend.

Friday, January 26, and Saturday, January 27 - 'Beauty and the Beast Jr'

One of the best ways to get out of the house but to stay warm in the winter in Twin Falls is to attend a musical or a play at the Orpheum Theatre. This weekend 'Beauty and the Beast Junior' will be performed on Friday and Saturday. The show on Friday will be at 7 PM, with two shows on Saturday, with the first being at 2 PM and the second being at 7 PM. Tickets are on sale and start at $15. Saturday, January 27 - Confidence and Self-Defense for the Youth

Does your child lack confidence? Do they need to learn self-defense to be prepared for a scary situation? There is a class this weekend in Rupert at the Historic Wilson Theatre offering Confidence and Self-Defense for the Youth. This class is intended for children aged 8 to 15 and admission to the class is $35. All proceeds go towards a good cause, which is Simply Hope, a nonprofit that offers a community center for the youth. The class begins at 10 AM and will last until around 11:30 AM. Saturday, January 27 - Family Lego Build

The Twin Falls Public Library is always putting on events for free for both children and adults, and there is one this weekend that will be fun for all ages you won't want to miss. Getting your kids out of the house is a must in the winter and what better way than taking them to the library and playing with their massive Lego collection during Family Lego Build from 11 AM to 1 PM? Saturday, January 27 - Movie Matinee

Going to the movies is always a fun time for the family, but can be a bit expensive these days, especially if you have a bigger family. If you want to get out of the house and enjoy a movie but not break the bank, look at going to Movie Matinee at the Twin Falls Public Library this Saturday from 3 PM to 5 PM and the movie is free. Saturday, January 27 - 2nd Annual Wassail

The Cedar Draw Cider will be holding the second annual Wassail event this Saturday, beginning at 4 PM. The event will include comfort food, wassail, and a ceremony at 6 PM. This is a way to bless the orchard for a good harvest. For more on the event, make sure to click on the link above.

Saturday, January 27 - Boxing Smoker

How do Saturday night fights sound this weekend? The CSI Boxing Smoker is back this weekend at the CSI Expo Center and is taking place this Saturday. Doors open at 5:30 PM and the event will begin at 7 PM. Tickets are still available, with general admission tickets beginning at $12. Saturday, January 27 - Punk Show

Are you a fan of punk music? Did you have a long week and need to get out and have some fun and enjoy some live music? This Saturday you should make your way to Big Papa's in Twin Falls for the Punk Show concert taking place. Doors open at 7:30 PM with the show beginning at 8:30 PM. Admission is $8 for all ages, and all ages are welcomed. The show will consist of bands like Whiskey Mountain, Broken Hipster, Gone After Midnight, and Ad Noiseem. With the weather much nicer this weekend than the last two, it is time to take advantage of it and get out for some fun.
