This week has been hard for many, adjusting to the time change, and catching up on sleep is a high priority for many this weekend. For those who need to adjust or want to find something fun to do when not sleeping, there are plenty of options with fun events taking place around Twin Falls this weekend. Before and after naps, get up off the couch, get out, and attend one of the events happening this weekend in the area.
Thursday, November 9 Through Saturday, November 11 - CSI Women's Basketball
The CSI Women's Basketball team kicked off their season last week hosting a tournament that saw them get off to a 3-0 start. They will host another tournament this weekend and look to extend their hot start. The women will be in action Thursday, Friday, and Saturday with all games being played at 5 PM. They will play Yavapai College on Thursday, North Idaho College on Friday, and Florida Southwestern State College on Saturday. Thursday, November 9 Through Saturday, November 11 - CSI Men's Basketball
The CSI Men's Basketball team did not get off to the start they wanted this season, going 1-2 last weekend, but will look to rebound and get back on the winning side of things. They, like the women's team, will be hosting a tournament this weekend on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, but their games will be at 7 PM. Friday, November 10 Through Sunday, November 12 - CSI Harvest Festival
With fall in full swing and currently sitting between holidays, it seems like a good time to get out and do some harvest shopping. The CSI Harvest Festival is taking place this weekend at the CSI Expo Center from Friday until Sunday. Admission is $3 per person or $7 for a weekend pass. Doors are open from 10 AM to 7 PM on Friday and Saturday and from 10 AM to 4 PM on Sunday. This is a great time to see if you can get some early holiday shopping done, and find some things you perhaps weren't aware of or thinking about. Make sure to head on out to the CSI Harvest Festival this weekend and enjoy some fun weekend shopping. The event is being put on by AKA Krafts and Kay Creates.
Friday, November 10 - Marine Corps Ball
This Saturday is Veteran's Day and what better way to celebrate it than by also celebrating the 248th birthday of the Marine Corps? There will be a birthday celebration this Friday in Jerome, located at the Snake River Elks Lodge, at 412 East 200 South. The cost is $40 per person, and you must RSVP in advance. Friday, November 10 Through Sunday, November 12 - 'Hansel and Gretel'
One way to get out of the house but not worry about the unpredictable weather in Idaho this time of year is to see a play or musical. The Orpheum Theatre in Twin Falls is constantly having amazing performances and this weekend is no different, as the classic 'Hansel and Gretel' will be performed this weekend. There will be shows Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with the shows being at 7 PM on Friday and Saturday, and at 2 PM on Sunday. Tickets begin as low as $17.50. Saturday, November 11 - Chili & Baked Potato Feed
Do you enjoy eating chili and potatoes? How would you like to enjoy some, while giving to a good cause? The 4th annual Chili and Baked Potato Feed is taking place this Saturday in Jerome from 3 PM to 6 PM at the Jerome County Fairgrounds in the Messersmith Building. The event is put on to help the Northside Wranglers 4H Club. There will be a silent auction, baked goods, and chili. All veterans will be given a free meal, in honor of Veteran's Day. Saturday, November 11 Through Saturday, November 18 - Homeless & Hunger Awareness Week
This Saturday marks the beginning of the first annual Homeless and Hunger Awareness Week at the Valley House Homeless Shelter. There will be different events throughout the week that Valley House encourages the community to participate in. There will be a tour and a chance to meet the team, stories and readings, and a walk to end homelessness, and a lunch. The week is full of different things to do and all money raised will go to help the homeless. While many of us will be needing naps this weekend and catching up to the time change from last weekend, others will be antsy to get up and get out. Go support one of the local basketball teams, enjoy some chili, take in a play, do some shopping at a festival, or celebrate the Marine Corps.
