I am the last person on the planet that knows anything about fashion, but I notice trends. Have matching clothes gone the way of bell bottoms, parachute pants, and dinosaurs?

About five years ago matching clothes started falling off the grid and color blocking surfaced.

Being a child of the 80's and a hippie at heart I was so relieved that I didn't have to buy matching clothing anymore. I've never made my kids match and I think they look adorable in unmatched clothing. All the grandmas in my life think I'm not putting matching clothing on my kids because I'm lazy, but in reality I'm not matching on purpose.

Please, someone validate my point that matching has gone out the window.
