Summer is here, and many tourists are making their way to Idaho this summer. As a result, many are getting out and spending more time outdoors, and some odd behavior is beginning to occur across the Gem State, especially in Southern Idaho. As people travel through the state and as many get out and interact with people, suspicious behavior typically happens, but now it is time to be on the lookout and beware before something happens to you. There have been some suspicious individuals in Southern Idaho recently and their behavior should have residents on high alert moving forward.

While crime normally rises as do the temperatures, so does odd behavior, and it has already shown its head early into the summer. Recently, we received a message of some odd behavior at a gas station where individuals had their faces covered and were watching a woman as she filled her vehicle with gas. Luckily, the woman was packing and flashed her gun, which scared away the individuals, but had she not shown protection who knows how things would have played out. Were they wanting her truck? Were they looking to harm her? Was it in her head and just odd behavior? It is tough to say, but these days you can't be too sure.

To further make the point of odd behavior, there have been multiple men accused of harassing women at a local gas station in Southern Idaho. This is never acceptable behavior and the fact that it has been happening is concerning. One thing that both occurrences have in common is that they involve women and gas stations or rest areas. It is important to be safe and to take people with you when stopping on road trips or when traveling of any kind. Women should constantly be aware of their surroundings and have an eye out for individuals who may have ill intentions. For more on the men harassing women, make sure to click on the link above.

Keep your eyes open and be safe this summer anytime you stop at a gas station, go to the store, or do anything alone, as some odd people appear to be out these days and you apparently have to always be on high alert.
