The Magic Valley is a great place to call home and raise a family. There are good schools, the community is well-sized, it is safe, not far from the mountains, has a beautiful canyon, and there are tons of great events that happen throughout the year. For some, things come up that force them to move away from the area, and having lived in the Magic Valley, it would be tough to not come back from time to time. If you were to move away and could only return for one community event a year, which would you choose and miss the most from no longer living in the area?

If you could only fly back for one event, which would be the one you would want to come back for? Death by Chocolate wouldn't be a bad choice. The event takes place in late January every year, which means returning during the cold winter, but this event offers all you can eat chocolate, five different categories, and is a night that you will not regret. If you have a sweet tooth, this event is likely near the top of your list of events you would miss most if you moved away.

Similar to Death by Chocolate, if you enjoy ice cream on a hot summer day, this event may be worth returning for. You can visit the area during the summer, as the event takes place in mid-July, and enjoy all-you-can-eat ice cream. There are typically 20 different creations to choose from, and with being outdoors and under the trees, there is plenty of shade and space to enjoy as many cups as your stomach can handle. Clover Leaf Creamery's ice cream is definitely worth a return trip to the Magic Valley each year.

Sticking with the warmer days, Sage Brush Days is a multi-day event that takes place in Buhl, but to most, it is about the Fourth of July Parade that sees the population skyrocket for the morning and afternoon. The parade is an annual tradition for many families in the Magic Valley and is one of the best parades throughout the entire year. Lots of candy, lots of businesses and floats, and even getting soaked by water guns are all to be expected. It is a great summer tradition and a great way to celebrate America's birthday each year. Not being at this parade may make the holiday feel a little off.

Sage Brush Days doesn't have the only parade throughout the year, as the Festival Lights Parade is also a tradition for many families. The weather can often be unpredictable for this parade; for many, it is the start of the holiday season and is a great way to get into the Christmas spirit. You often don't know what goodies will be handed out, as well as plenty of candy, and even Santa appears in the parade. Not being present could make the holiday season feel incomplete.

Western Days is like a block party to kick off the summer. It is a great way to get out and check out some local vendors, enjoy live music, have a drink, make some friends, and watch your children get their energy out on some bounce houses. There is always good food, and it makes for a great way to get outdoors and enjoy Twin Falls City Park at the end of May. This would include coming back to town when the weather is nice and enjoying a relaxing weekend afternoon in the park. Not a bad way to return to your old home.

While not an official event or one-day-only eventTubbs Berry Farm during October is one of the best attractions around. Slides, apple blasters, a giant hay maze, the pumpkin patch, the bounce pad, basketball, human foosball, and much more are all reasons to go in the fall. If returning to the Magic Valley during the fall, it is a must-visit, and it is one that may make the fall less enjoyable if you are no longer able to go.

Similar to Tubbs Berry Farm, while not a single-day event, the month of October is filled with screams from those attending The Haunt Swamp. Would you travel back during the fall to get scared, scream, and have fun at The Haunted Swamp? While most places have haunted attractions, there are few as good as this one.

The CSI Boxing Smoker takes place in late January and offers residents a chance to see people they know get in the ring and box it out. For some, it is their favorite event of the year, and the proceeds go towards helping the CSI rodeo team. This would involve coming back to Idaho in the winter, but is an event worth returning for.

Similar to a few on this list, the Southern Idaho Bull Bash would mean returning to the Gem State during the cold, harsh winter, as the Bull Bash takes place in early to mid-January. It is a chance to see some incredible bull riding and enjoy a night back in town watching something Idaho is well known for. Would this be your choice to come back for?

Nobody on the planet will ever know what it was like to be alive when Jesus Christ was born, but the Living Nativity in Twin Falls every December is about as close as you can get. Go back in time to Bethlehem, see Mary, Joseph, and Jesus in the manger, as well as live animals, and experience what it was like all those years ago. It's an incredible experience, and for many families it is a holiday tradition. It is a weekend worth traveling back to Twin Falls for, especially to see old friends, coworkers, and perhaps family members during the holidays.
