The snow has come, and it feels closer to Christmas or Thanksgiving today than it does Easter. Most people associate April with rain, warmer weather, and flowers beginning to bloom, but in Idaho, it means snow, wind, and up and down weather. The snow has rolled into the Magic Valley and it has confused people that have never experienced spring in Idaho. With the white on the ground, it may make things a little easier for the Easter Bunny this year, as eggs might be hidden differently.

Many people enjoy all that goes with Easter. It means fruity candy, dying eggs, and hunting eggs. If the snow sticks around until Easter though, it may be fun to just have plain eggs in the snow and see if the kids can find white eggs in white snow. Even if the snow begins to melt, it may be fun to get some fake snow and do it anyway to mess with your kids. They would be excited for a white Easter, to only find out it isn't real, and then have issues finding the eggs. It might be a mean prank, but it is April after all.

Odds are the snow will melt and the temperatures will rise before Sunday, but if they do stay low and the snow continues to fall, then maybe celebrating Easter this year should look different than most years. It is Idaho, so you never know what Mother Nature will do, but with it feeling like Christmas with less than a week to go, maybe take advantage of it and make it an Easter Christmas holiday for this year. Break the stockings back out and ask the Easter Bunny to load them with goodies, instead of Easter baskets. Turn on the Christmas lights if you haven't turned taken them down yet, and enjoy a day by the fire.

Living in Idaho provides us with unique circumstances, like the potential of a white Easter. If the snow does stick around and the temperatures remain low, make the day special and maybe have some fun with it this year, which most years you wouldn't be able to. Warm up some hot cocoa, enjoy a day around the fire, and treat Easter a little different this year as the potential for a white Easter is a real possibility this year in Twin Falls.

7 Reasons We Need A Deep Freeze This Spring

My ideal outdoor situation is sunny and 75, but I’d be OK if over the next few days we got a really deep freeze and maybe even some snow.

Beautiful and Dangerous Ice In Snake River Canyon

During the winter there are massive icicles, or the kids called them frozen waterfalls, all along the wall. The ice is beautiful and extremely dangerous.
