10 Ways to Avoid Driving Down Blue Lakes in Twin Falls

Traffic in Twin Falls has increased over the years. As the population has continued to grow, the traffic has worsened. There are more people, meaning more cars on the road, and it is even worse in the summer when the tourist season is happening. There has been tons of construction this year already, making navigating through town a little tougher. Despite it being tourist season, the construction, and the population, there is one rule most live by in town, and that is to avoid Blue Lake at all costs. With Blue Lakes being the main street in Twin Falls, what are the best ways to get around Twin and avoid the busiest area?

Driving on Washington in Twin Falls

The most obvious solution to avoiding Blue Lakes is to take a different route. Washington is an easy option with being able to go all the way across town at a decent speed, and not too many lights. It might not be the quickest route, but it is a solid option. 

Taking Eastland in Twin Falls

Similar to Washington, taking Eastland is also an option. It simply comes down to which side of town you need to be on, and which one you prefer. Traffic is often less on Eastland, but it is further away from much of the shopping and eating options. A solid choice, if looking to avoid Blue Lakes. 

Using Locust Street in Twin Falls

Another alternative route would be to use Locust, seeing how it goes all the way through town from north to south. The issue with Locust is that there are many stop signs, and it goes down to one lane in certain areas, which can make it slow down a bit, depending on what time of day you drive up and down the road. 

Riding a Horse in Twin Falls

There are many horses around these parts, and taking a horse might be a faster and a better option than taking Blue Lakes to get somewhere. It allows you to take different routes, and not have to stick to the roads. It isn't the best option on the list, but it would not be unordinary to see around the Magic Valley. 

Taxi Service in Twin Falls

Instead of driving down Blue Lakes, you could take a taxi or ride service, and let them do the driving for you. It wouldn't matter what route they take, since you would be sitting in the back and not stressing about traffic or dealing with other drivers. It would be your driver's problem instead. 

Walking in Twin Falls

This choice might take a while, but one option would be to walk to your destination. With Twin Falls not being the biggest town, nothing is too far of a walk, so long as you don't need to carry something heavy back. The weather would play a factor in going this route, but on a nice day, why not walk instead of dealing with the traffic on Blue Lakes? 

Highway 93 in Twin Falls

Similar to other options, taking another street is likely the best choice. With all the construction taking place, perhaps you take an extreme route and decide to go around town by going all the way out to Highway 93, and taking it until you get to Addison or Pole Line, and avoiding town altogether. It may add more miles, but if you prefer no stoplights or stop signs, it is an option. 

Driving Through Kimberly

Similar to above, this would be the same option but on the east side of Twin Falls. Depending on where you need to go and where you are coming from, you could go out into the country near Kimberly and take a road out there until needed to head West towards town. If you live on the south side of town and need to get to the interstate, going out towards Kimberly would help avoid having to go all the way down Blue Lakes. 

Using a Helicopter in Twin Falls

If you have the money, you might as well use it and buy a helicopter. This way you can fly over Twin Falls and eliminate all traffic, stops, construction, and any issues entirely. It might be extreme, but it isn't unheard of, and would also allow you to make a cool entrance anytime you arrive somewhere. 

Staying Home in Twin Falls

The final option might be the best, and that is to stay home entirely. Send someone else to run your errands, or ask a friend to pick things up for you. Sometimes it isn't worth it to get out, and you are better off staying home and not dealing with the headache of Twin Falls traffic.
