Halloween season is here and as the final days tick down, many residents in the Magic Valley are getting ready for the holiday. Some will use the nice weather and put out their final decorations, some will go buy candy to hand out this Halloween, and others will be scrambling to get their costumes or make final adjustments. Time is running out, and the bill is getting higher and higher. There is one way you can save money this Halloween by getting free candy to hand out to trick-or-treaters, while also getting candy to enjoy yourself.

Halloween candy has gotten expensive, as has everything. Buying a bag of candy that you won't get to enjoy is a little depressing for your wallet, your stomach, and your happiness. There is a way to get free candy this year to hand out and have some pieces left over to enjoy. With all the trunk-or-treats happening this next week in the Magic Valley, if you attend enough of them, you should be able to gather plenty of candy, especially if you have multiple children. This is all done before the big day, meaning that kids will get even more on Halloween. Kids don't need that much sugar, and while parents will pick out their favorites, they likely won't want it all either. Instead of throwing away all of that candy, why not recycle it and give it to trick-or-treaters on Halloween?

Depending on how many Halloween festivities and trunk-or-treats you attend, it is possible to accumulate pounds of candy before Halloween ever arrives. Save money and put some candy in a bowl or hand it out to trick-or-treaters. This way you aren't left with tummy aches, bad candy in March, or having to donate it to schools or churches. Your children are likely to have so much candy over the next week, that they won't miss some of what was gathered the week before. It saves you money, it is still getting consumed, and nobody is unhappy, except perhaps your children for giving away their candy.

Don't go to the store and waste your money, especially if you plan on taking your children to multiple trunk-or-treats or festivities over the next week. Use what candy they have collected to your advantage and also give away the ones that you and your family don't like. Be smart this Halloween and use the resources you have to save money while making other kids happy this Halloween season. If you don't have a child to take trunk-or-treating, you need to go to the store and get candy.
