Sam Hunt will be performing at the 2017 Billboard Music Awards. The awards show's official Twitter account reports that Hunt has been added to the upcoming event's lineup and will be singing his hit "Body Like a Back Road."

Hunt joins fellow country act Florida Georgia Line in the 2017 Billboard Music Awards performers lineup. Also scheduled to take the stage during the event are Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran, Nicki Minaj, Celine Dion, Drake and more.

Hunt isn't nominated for any Billboard Music Awards this year. Country nominees include Luke Bryan (the all-genre Billboard Chart Achievement Award and the Top Country Tour category), Hillary Scott (Top Christian Album and Top Christian Song), Florida Georgia Line (Top Duo / Group, Top Country Artist, Top Country Album, Top Country Song, Top Country Collaboration), Chris Stapleton (Top Country Artist, Top Country Album) and Little Big Town (Top Country Song), among others.

Nominees for the 2017 Billboard Music Awards were selected based on “key fan interactions with music” between March 18, 2016, and March 16, 2017. Those metrics include album and digital songs sales, streaming, radio airplay, touring and engagement on social media, all of which are tracked by Billboard, Nielsen Music and Next Big Sound.

The 2017 Billboard Music Awards are scheduled to take place on May 21 and air on ABC beginning at 8PM ET. Hunt is scheduled to head out on his 15 in a 30 Tour beginning on June 1; he will headline the 2017 Taste of Country Music Festival in June.
