New Years celebrations throughout the Magic Valley once again resulted in several stray animals being dropped off at area shelters.

The Magic Valley Humane Society reported 11 strays were taken to their facility from Saturday, December 30 through Monday, January 1.

"Our main priority is to reunite these animals with their owners," said Director Debbie Blackwood. "We are currently accessing their tempers."

The shelter will care for these animals for 72 hours (or until Friday) before they begin prepping them for adoption. Pet owners who have not yet gone through the proper steps to ID their animals are taking a big risk, and only have a couple more weeks until the deadline to do so.

"Make sure your pet's ID is current," said Blackwood. "City licenses are due January 31st."
