Magic Valley Cowgirl Will Compete in Las Vegas for Miss Rodeo America
Many people who love the sport of rodeo aren’t aware of all the work it takes to compete. It’s not like putting on shoes and running in a circle. There is a lifestyle requirement to participate in rodeo.
Recognizing the commitment it takes to participate in rodeo, it takes even more to take on competing for Miss Rodeo America. Miss Rodeo America competitors have to compete in public speaking, interviews, horsemanship, model sponsor clothing, and take a written test on rodeo. The competition will be in December in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Who is This Year’s Miss Rodeo Idaho?
This year’s Miss Rodeo Idaho is a resident of Buhl. Lydia Miller has a degree in agribusiness from CSI and will continue her education using scholarship funds after her adventure with the rodeo queen competition has been completed. Her platform “Ride With Me” endeavors to show people they are never alone. She is an ambassador for Project Filter endeavoring to fight tobacco use, and Stampede for the Cure to help provide screenings for cancer to underinsured women.
It has been almost a decade since the Magic Valley had a participant win as Miss Rodeo Idaho. The Magic Valley Stampede, Gold Buckle Club, and Twin Falls County Fair are hoping to see plenty of support for Miss Rodeo Idaho’s sendoff event on November 18th at 3 PM in the Pastoor Event Center Building on the Twin Falls County Fairgrounds in Filer. Tickets will be available at the door. Adult tickets are $12 and Children 12 and under are $5. There will be a silent auction, no-host bar, and appetizers.
