Have you gained a little weight in 2020? If so, you are not alone. According to a recent survey, the majority of Americans admit to gaining weight during the pandemic too.

A survey was conducted via an online poll of adults in the United States between Oct. 26 and Nov. 3. Researches from the research firm Kelton Global found that  53% of those who responded to the poll claimed to be as worried about gaining weight now and at the end of the year as they are about not being able to see family for the holidays.

While some may have looked at this pandemic and lockdown as a chance to get their health and weight in check, others may have found that task easier said than done.

Nearly three in five of those polled said they are “on a mission to lose weight in the new year.” With that being said, 63% admitted that keeping healthy habits during the coronavirus has been more difficult. My advice to those people is to go easy on yourself. We’re living one of the most difficult and challenging times of our lives. It makes more than enough sense to struggle in certain areas in your life.

I mean stress-eating is a real thing. On top of that, munching on yummy snacks is a good way to pass the time when there’s nothing else to do!

The findings also indicate that 51% of Americans hope to lose weight in the new year. While 2020 may not have been your year for weight loss, it wasn’t for a majority of Americans either!
