Super Bowl LII is one week from Sunday, and that means Las Vegas is taking bets. One bet in particular caught the world's attention this week for two reasons--the first being the amount of money put up, and the second being the fact that the loot is on David to take down Goliath.

The Philadelphia Eagles and New England Patriots are the two teams in the dance this year. The Eagles, for the third straight week, are underdogs, with the Patriots a -4.5 favorite. That didn't deter one--as of now unidentified source--from placing a multi-million-dollar bet on the birds to win it all.

Several news agencies, one of which being ESPN News, is reporting one bet has been negotiated through the MGM Grand that could potentially have an eight figure payout. The unnamed party has picked the Eagles to beat the Patriots. It's unknown whether the bet includes the current five point spread or not.

A WWII veteran named Elmer Sherwin holds the current record for largest Vegas payout at $21 million, according to gamblingsites.org. When the full details of this week's bet are made public, we could be getting to know the new champion.

That is, if the birds can pull it off.
