We already know that kids will go out on Halloween no matter what happens. It could be a beautiful afternoon or a blizzard, and they’ll still throw on a costume to get free candy. There might be only two things that make kids not want to go out: They are tired (as parents, we’ve all dealt with a kid who has trick-or-treated to exhaustion), and finding out that most houses aren’t handing out candy.

I get bummed as a parent when we turn onto a new street and almost all the houses are dark, and I know it makes my kids sad, too. But if you are willing to put in a little work, you can almost guarantee that every house you hit will be handing out candy this year.

These Houses Will Hand Out Candy on Halloween in Twin Falls

For many of us, we have realized that there are certain parts of town that are always good to trick-or-treat. You can’t go wrong on the northeast side of town near the temple, and there are amazing streets that go all-in around town. But you can take the guesswork out of the candy gathering with the Twin Falls Candy Map on Nextdoor.

The map shows houses that have verified that they will be handing out candy on Halloween. You can see which houses are participating by clicking on the pumpkins. Some of them just say they’ll have candy, while others say what kind of candy (I found one that will have full-sized candy bars), and any special instructions for trick-or-treaters - like knock or yell loudly.

Now, you can see that the houses are spread all around town, which means you can’t walk to all of them, but you can drive to them and map out your course. You’re guaranteed to see other houses on your way with lights on and candy to share.

Keep an eye on the weather so your kids' costumes are temperature-appropriate. And if you dress up your pets, make sure to take a picture and send it to us for the Valley View Veterinary Clinic Halloween Pet Photo Contest.

2024 Valley View Veterinary Clinic Halloween Pet Photo Contest Finalists

We had a lot of great submissions this year for the pet photo contest, and some didn’t make the cut only for failure to follow the submission rules, like including people in the pictures, sending blurry pictures, or adding 'stickers' and graphics to the picture. These are the ones who did it right and deserve your votes.
