Idaho State Police reported 2 separate accidents Tuesday morning near Boise involving semi-trucks. One of the accidents was a fatal crash.

Driver Killed in Accident North of Boise

At 10:39 Tuesday morning, Idaho State Police responded to an accident north of Boise near New Meadows in Adams County on US 95:

A 2004 Chevy Silverado, driven by a 63-year-old male from Riggins, was traveling southbound. A 2023 Kenworth semi-truck and trailer, driven by a 33-year-old male from Schaumburg, IL, was traveling northbound. The Silverado crossed left of center and struck the trailer, then overturned and came to rest on its top.

The driver of the Silverado succumbed to his injuries on the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt.

The driver of the Kenworth was not transported and was wearing a seatbelt.

The highway was blocked on the southbound side for more than 4 hours while crews cleared the scene and assisted those involved in the accident. The crash is under investigation by the ISP.

Semi Crashed and Overturned on Highway Near Boise

Early Tuesday morning, around 3 AM, Idaho State Police responded to a single-vehicle accident on I-84 in Boise:

A 46-year-old male, from Michigan City, Indiana was traveling eastbound in a 2023 Freightliner semi with a single box trailer. The semi struck the center barrier and overturned. The trailer went over the barrier and blocked the two left lanes on the westbound side. The truck blocked the two left lanes on the eastbound side.

The driver was wearing a seatbelt. The driver was transported to a local hospital by ground ambulance.

The eastbound lanes of Interstate 84 were blocked for 4 hours and 2 lanes on the westbound side were blocked for longer. The accident is being investigated by Idaho State Police.
