On Monday, July 6th, the Idaho State Police reported two highway accidents in southeastern Idaho. Four people were injured in one accident in Clark County, and another accident in Bonneville County claimed the life of one person and injured five others.

Idaho State Police are investigating both accidents, along with two others that happened over the holiday weekend.

Fatal Head-On Crash Reported By Idaho State Police

The Idaho State Police have reported that a head-on collision between two vehicles happened on July 6th at 6:45 PM. The two vehicles collided on Highway 26, east of Ririe (northeast of Idaho Falls) at mile marker 358.

A blue 2010 Hyundai Accent, driven by a 32-year-old male from Idaho Falls, Idaho, was traveling westbound.

A blue 2020 Chevrolet Tahoe, driven by a 49-year-old female from Jackson, Wyoming, with four passengers, was traveling eastbound.

The driver of the Hyundai crossed into the eastbound lanes and hit the Tahoe head-on. The Hyundai driver passed away at the scene of the accident.

The passengers of the Chevrolet were a 24-year-old male also from Jackson, Wyoming, a 53-year-old male, a 26-year-old female, both from Mexico, and a juvenile.

The 53-year-old male passenger in the Tahoe was taken by air ambulance to a local hospital. The driver and three other occupants of the Tahoe were taken to the hospital by ground ambulance.

The accident is being investigated.

Among the 4th of July holiday weekend accidents was a serious injury accident between a motorcycle and an SUV. The man injured is a Boise City Search and Rescue unit member and was taken to a local hospital by helicopter ambulance.
