Hotel For Pets: Should Hotels Allow Dogs in Twin Falls?

Traveling with pets always adds an extra layer to the process. You have to make sure you have enough food, the leash, potentially a crate, and everything they might need. It adds extra expenses as well. Some hotels charge extra for pets, while others will let them stay for free. It can save money, as you are not boarding them or paying a dog sitter, but sometimes one must wonder, is it easier to leave the dog at home?

Growing up, my family never took our pets with us on trips, but a lot of people do these days. Our pets are part of the family and are essentially one of our kids. If you wouldn't leave your kid at home, why would you leave your dog, cat, or whatever your pet is?

We are a family that usually leaves our dog and our mini zoo with friends and family, but while we continue to live in a hotel, she has been with us the whole time. It is a new experience for me, and I have to wonder should hotels allow dogs to stay in them? I try to be courteous of everyone around me, and every time she barks, whines, or scratches at the door, it makes me paranoid she will get us kicked out.

While some dogs are well trained and fit perfectly in a hotel, mine is not one of them. She can be very good, but she is out of her element right now. With the long car ride, the moving, and unknown location, she is dealing with a lot, as is the rest of my family. With dogs having different personalities, I wonder if she should be allowed to stay with us. It isn't her fault, as we never trained her to be that type of dog, but I don't want her to bother other people staying in the hotel.

Questions begin to slip into my head like; what if someone is allergic, or she barks in the night, or she has an accident. These things make me paranoid. Am I the only one that gets anxious about these things? I know I'd be mad if one of us was allergic and there was a dog in the room next door. I would be mad if a dog barked at 2 AM and woke us up or kept us up all night. I'd be mad if I stayed in a room all chewed up or door scratched.

I love my dog and will keep her with us. I have never judged anyone or been mad at anyone for having a dog in a hotel, but I do wonder if they should be allowed. As long as nobody complains, I figure let them continue to stay in the hotel, but once issues occur, or someone asks to be moved to a new room, things may change.
