Wildlife officials are investigating the illegal killing of two mule deer that were found last week near a golf course in eastern Idaho.

The Idaho Department of Fish and Game said the two bucks that were wasted and dumped were discovered on Thursday, Oct. 17, south of Sand Creek Golf Course on Henry Creek Road south of Idaho Falls.

The department is seeking the public’s help with information about this case.

"We are asking for your help," Conservation Officer Rob Howe said in a statement. "Anyone with knowledge of these two deer is asked to come forward and help us understand what circumstances lead to these deer being left."

Those with information about the case can call or text Howe at 208-390-0634 or the Citizen’s Against Poaching hotline at 800-632-5999. Callers may remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward. Individuals may also report wildlife crimes at this Fish and Game web page.
