Filer Fun Days is this weekend! For three days, the quiet town of Filer becomes the place to be for some family friendly fun.

There are six events that make up Filer Fun Days:

Fish Fry

The community celebration begins at 5 p.m. today with an all-you-can-eat fish fry at the Twin Falls County Fairgrounds. Admission costs $7 for adults and $4 for children 12 and younger. The Honey Bees will provide musical entertainment.

Pancake Breakfast

Since you’ve had dinner at the fairgrounds, you might as well have breakfast there, too. Saturday starts with a pancake breakfast from 7 to 10 a.m. at the Merchants Building at the fairgrounds. The cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children 12 and younger.

Golden Horseshoe 5K

If you feel like burning some of those calories you just ingested, consider registering for the Golden Horseshoe 5K and 1-mile run and walk, which starts at 8 a.m. at the fairgrounds. Registration is $20 for those 18 and older and $10 for 17 and younger. Registration starts at 7 a.m., and the fee benefits the Filer High School Cross Country Team.

Filer Fun Days Parade

The Filer Fun Days Parade starts at 11 a.m. 40 to 60 entries are usually submitted for the Filer Parade. The parade theme is “Let the Good Times Roll,” and the grand marshals are Bill and Mary Jean Elliott.

The Famous Chicken Drop

No they don't drop chickens! Filer’s famous chicken drop is simialr to Cow Patty Bingo. The Chicken Drop will take place at 3 p.m. next to the free stage. Buy a spot on the board, and if the chicken poops on your square, you win $100. Spots are $1 each or six for $5.

Street Dance

Open Range will play for a dance on Main Street from 8 p.m. to midnight Saturday. During the street dance, the Nazarene Fellowship Center, at Main and Yakima streets, will provide activities for children. A barbecue will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., and a children’s movie from 6:30 to 9 p.m.

Filer Fun Days runs June 20th through June 22nd.
