Fast food is a luxury that many enjoy. Even if you claim not to eat fast food often or at all, you will still cave occasionally and enjoy a quick meal either on a road trip, when you haven't eaten all day, or have a certain craving. Fast food, while not often healthy, is nice to have from time to time, especially when on the go during the school year, traveling, or running errands. It used to be that many enjoyed fast food because of the affordable costs, but those days are long gone. One popular fast food chain has decided to go back in time and lower its prices to what customers used to enjoy in Idaho, Washington, and Utah.

McDonald's has long been the king of the fast food industry and has served billions for decades. They are globally known and are the standard when it comes to fast food. Their logo is iconic, their mascots are famous everywhere, and their food is well-known. McDonald's has long been a place that customers enjoy. They used to have the best playgrounds and be the place to hold birthday parties, and they also used to have the best prices and have an amazing value meal. Their prices have gone up like everyone else's over the last few years, and they have decided that enough is enough and will soon be lowering their prices to benefit their customers and encourage others to start eating with them again.

Joe Erlinger, the head of McDonald's, recently announced that the popular fast food chain would lower its prices for the rest of 2025, allowing customers to return to the value they are accustomed to. While this is exciting news, it is not the entire menu that will be lowered. The following items will decrease in value starting September 1:

  • Big Mac
  • Quarter Pounder with Cheese
  • Chicken McNuggets
  • McCirspy
  • Egg McMuffin
  • Other select breakfast sandwiches

Some meals will be reduced to $5, while others will be reduced to $8. The stores will be compensated and taken care of by McDonald's for the money lost during this time period. These value menus will be lowered by 15% which should make them more affordable for the average customer. During a call earlier this year, it was determined that a value menu priced over $10 was viewed negatively, thus bringing forth the change.
