6 Events to Enjoy the Final Weekend of the Year in the Magic Valley

The year has flown by and hard as it is to believe, the final weekend of the year is here. Christmas is over, and the days of 2024 are ticking away. While some will want to rest and prepare for fun in the middle of the week, counting down the final hours of the year and welcome in 2025, there is still time to have some fun in 2024. If you want to get out of the house this weekend, there are some events taking place to help you have some fun in the Magic Valley.

Thursday, December 26 - Tacos & Tequila & Country Dancing

After cooking for friends and family and being stuck in the house on Christmas day, a day out to enjoy some food, drinks, and dancing sounds like a great way to follow up the holiday. This Thursday there will be Tacos & Tequila & Country Dancing at Twin Falls Brickhouse, located at 516 Hansen Street S. Dining hours will be 4 PM to 9 PM with drinks and taco specials, and from 7 PM to 11 PM there will be live music and country dancing. All ages are welcome until 9 PM. Saturday, December 28 - Family Lego Build

Playing with Legos is fun for young and old people alike. Not everyone has Legos, or perhaps you don't have enough. You can stop by the Twin Falls Public Library this Saturday and have fun at Family Lego Build from 11 AM to 1 PM. You can build and imagine with the Library's giant Lego collection. Saturday, December 28 - Sample Saturday at Rudy's

Everyone loves free food, but it is often hard to find situations to enjoy a free bite. For those unaware on Saturdays at Rudy's in Twin Falls, located on Main in Twin Falls there is Sample Saturday. It takes place from 11 AM to 2 PM and you can try out free samples of recipe creations from Olivelle. For those old enough, there will also be free tastings of wine as well. Saturday, December 28 - Movie Matinee

Watching a movie these days can be expensive, making going to the movies tough for some families, especially after spending so much money during the holiday season. If you want to get out and enjoy a movie as a family, but not empty your wallet, go to the Twin Falls Public Library for Movie Matinee, happening on Saturday at 3 PM. Monday, December 30 - Dance Party

The year is ending, the holiday season is dwindling, and it's time to party. For those that have little ones that aren't in elementary school yet, make sure to bring them to the Twin Falls Public Library on Monday or any day next week that isn't New Year's and enjoy a dance party. Monday, December 30 - CSI Men's Basketball

Getting out and seeing live sports is always a great way to spend time as a family, and with it being winter, indoor entertainment is the best way to go. The CSI Men's basketball team is in action on Monday, and for those looking to have some fun, this is a great chance to check out this year's team. The men are currently 11-3 on the season and will look to notch another win when they host Blue Mountain Community College at 7 PM. Many will want to rest this weekend to recover from Christmas and to prepare for New Year's. While that isn't a bad plan, there are still things to get out and enjoy this weekend. Go enjoy a free movie, cheer on the local basketball team, shake your booty at a dance party, play with Legos, drink, eat, and dance, or enjoy samples of good food and wine.
