It has been such a privilege getting to know the seniors that depend on the Twin Falls Senior Center. Talking to them and delivering meals has been incredibly enlightening about how many seniors wouldn't make it if the Senior Center wasn't here tomorrow.

I got to speak with Henry and Diana Keyes and deliver them a meal. Henry is one of the sweetest and most amazing men I have ever met. He told me that if it weren't for the Twin Falls Senior Center, he probably wouldn't be here today. He has some serious health problems and he can't really cook.

The Twin Falls Senior Center gives him nutritional meals that have helped keep his strength up. Henry said he isn't sure he is going to make it to his next birthday in January, but without the Senior Center, he definitely wouldn't.

There are so many seniors that seem to be forgotten about in the area. It is always great to donate to a cause, but people tend to forget the seniors need help just as much as animals and children.

There are a few upcoming events you can attend to help raise funds that the Twin Falls Senior Center desperately needs.

On October 26th, mark your calendars because there will be a spaghetti dinner at the senior center. From 4 p.m. to 7:30 pm for $10 for adults and $5 for children you can come eat pasta and help the Meals on Wheels program. It comes with spaghetti obviously, bread, salad and a dessert plus coffee, tea, lemonade and water.

October 14th through November 10th, Subway restaurants are partnering with Twin Falls Senior Center to help raise funds as well. You can round up your purchase and all the change will be donated to the Meals on Wheels program.

These meals are literally life and death for some of these seniors. Henry and Diana are a perfect example of those seniors. Between their budget, immobility and health issues, without Meals on Wheels, they would eat "a lot of bologna sandwiches" according to Henry. Any contribution could help save and prolong life.
