Is There an Age Limit to Sitting on Santa’s Lap in the Gem State?
It is the most wonderful time of the year. Christmas music, holiday lights, holiday shopping, the movies, time away from work, family, food, and so much more. It is the time of the year that many look forward to for 12 months, to finally hear the classic songs, see the classic movies, and enjoy unwrapping presents under the tree while drinking eggnog and eating Christmas cookies. Before the big day arrives though, there is plenty to do, and one of those tasks is often sitting on Santa's lap and telling him what you want. While this is usually something for children to enjoy, is it acceptable for an adult to sit on Santa's lap this holiday season in the Gem State?
Santa Claus in Idaho
Seeing Santa Claus is one of the moments that is special as a child. To see and talk to the Big Man himself can be a moment that sticks with many of us, and it can also be traumatizing, depending on the child. Most kids know what they want for Christmas, and they can't wait to sit on Santa's lap and tell him what they really want this year. It is a lot of pressure, as if these toys don't get delivered, kids will be disappointed on Christmas day. While sitting on Santa's lap is a huge part of the holidays for many families and children, at what age should a child stop sitting on his lap? Is it when they become a teenager? Is it when they turn 18 and become an adult? Is there an age limit?
Age Limit to Sit on Santa's Lap in Idaho
Is there an age limit to sit on Santa's lap? Technically, there are no limits to how old you have to be to stop sitting on Santa's lap, but there are some guidelines perhaps that should be followed. If a long line of children are waiting, it is best to not sit on Santa's lap, as he is very busy and can only get to so many kids per day. If Santa says he isn't comfortable with it, it is best to respect his decision. Santa might be too nice to say no, but if his elves recommend you not sit on his lap, it is best to respect their wishes as well.
If there is no line, and Santa says it is ok, there is nothing wrong with an adult sitting on Santa's lap for a chuckle and picture. It is nice for adults to keep the holiday spirit and magic alive, and if sitting on Santa's lap brings someone Christmas joy, why should a simple number be what stops them from experiencing it? The holidays are about joy and happiness, and everyone should experience the magic, even if that includes sitting on Santa's lap for a few seconds or minutes.
