There’s always one guy in the neighborhood who decorates for Halloween like he’s preparing for the end times.  He does the same at Christmas, with similar gaudy displays.  Maybe he has a Velvet Elvis in the living room.  I’m always surprised because these are often the people who wouldn’t appear to have a pot to pee in.  Americans don’t let money get in the way of happiness.  Or at least happily decorating.

WalletHub says most parents allow kids 12 and older to Trick or Treat alone.  Bish’s Street is a safe alternative for the younger boys and girls.

People are going to spend almost $9 billion this Halloween.  WalletHub has compiled the figures.  Costumes alone will account for in excess of $3 billion.  Candy will come in at just over $2.5 billion.  Nearly 3/4 of parents confess they steal candy from their kids (these are people with family dental plans).

What is very nice to learn is some of the money spent benefits charitable causes.  Most of the money collected at haunted attractions helps underwrite good causes.

Just a reminder (we can’t say it enough) about this year’s Trick or Treat on Bish’s Street.  It’s taking place at the Expo Center at the College of Southern Idaho.  If you go to the old location you’ll be disappointed.

Speaking of candy costs, the team here at Townsquare Media can give out 10,000 pieces of candy.  One year we passed out something on the order of 7,000 Clif Bars.  Which is also good for the local economy!

It’s a safe and reliable place to bring the kids.  WalletHub says most parents allow kids 12 and older to Trick or Treat alone.  Bish’s Street is a safe alternative for younger boys and girls.
