Many stores are continuing to close. Week after week another company appears to announce they are closing locations, going bankrupt, or going fully out of business. It is a trend that has not been fun for customers as many of their favorite places are closing, and soon many empty buildings will fill towns and malls, as everything seems to be going to online stores. Another retail store has announced they are going out of business and will be closing all locations in Idaho, Washington, Utah, and across the country. Who is joining this long-growing list, and what does their going out of business mean for customers?

Another day, another retailer closing, this one going out of business. Billabong, a popular swimwear store, is closing all locations in Idaho, Washington, Utah, and nationwide. The company Liberated Brands LLC which owns Billabong has filed for bankruptcy and is closing the stores. Many factors played into the company going bankrupt, such as a rapid increase in interest rates, supply chain delays, inflation, and a decline in customer demand. No set date has been set for when the stores will shut, but expect great deals and major sales until they do.

Billabong is not the only store closing, as Liberated Brands LLC is also home to popular stores Volcom and Quiksilver. The stores are no longer accepting gift cards. There are over 100 locations nationwide for Billabong with locations in Idaho, Utah, and Washington. The company is based out of Costa Mesa, California. While they have announced they are closing all locations, the hope is that they will be able to continue selling merchandise online, as the company is in the process of transferring to another company to continue making clothes and accessories.

It is sad to see another store going out of business, but the good news about this one is that it will not disappear entirely like others on the list of closing businesses. Billabong, Vocom, and Quiksilver are all popular stores in this region and will be missed.
