We're not going to lie, this was a hard decision to make. With 43 entries there was a lot to love. We had a man showing off his sweet scooter, a guy with a mammoth Steelhead, great pics of dads and kids, and so much more! The voting was tight. At several times there was a tie, and then another tie, and then another tie... but after all the votes were counted, one photo walked away with the Camp Chef Outdoor Cook Stove from Bish's RV! It’s funny how things come full circle. I remember my dad teaching me how to bait a hook like it was last week.

Today, I spend countless hours trying to help him program his remote and even more time trying to explain to him what “The Twitter” is.

Just because Dad is a little behind the times, doesn’t mean that his words of wisdom don’t ring true. I compiled a list of a few timeless phrases that Dad used to use on me.

For as long as I can remember my mom has always planned stuff for Father's Day...she always calls my siblings and I to make sure that we didn't forget about Father's Day.

I don't recall my dad ever saying much about Mother's Day. So in my mind a much bigger deal is made about Father's Day than Mother's Day. Apparently this isn't the norm. In a new survey by Procter & Gamble from PR Newswire, 80% of dads surveyed said they feel like Mother's Day gets MORE ATTENTION than Father's Day. And, they say it's unfair.

Father's Day can be a difficult holiday to celebrate for the simple fact that dads can be hard to buy for and they don't want to go anywhere that doesn't include their recliner.

Sacramento Bee / PR Newswire conducted a survey and they found some good news and bad news here for dads. The good news: Just under two out of five people say that Father's Day doesn't get as much attention as it deserves.

The bad news? Even though they think it's underrated, they're not taking it upon themselves to spend big money to change things.

50% of people say they plan to spend between $25 and $99 on a Father's Day gift this year. Only 22% plan to spend more than $100.

When I was a kid Father’s Day seemed like a less important holiday around the house. There was always a lot of fuss made about Christmas, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and even Mother’s Day, but Father’s Day was marked by a nice meal and little more. It wasn’t until much later in life when I became a father that I understood why. It’s because dad just took care of everything, and never expected a parade.

A good dad doesn’t need a lot of fanfare. A good dad doesn’t need to be fawned over. A good dad takes care of his family even when it means giving up every single one of his hopes and dreams. Dads are the workhorses that keep the entire world running, and when we see our kids laugh, play, and grow up, that’s all the thanks we need.

With Father’s Day coming Sunday, June 19th, this is the perfect opportunity to say thanks to your dad. You don’t need to make a big thing of it, just give the old man a hug.
