Videos of Yellowstone National Park visitors wandering into restricted areas are a common upload we see online. A video that has gone viral this week appears to show a man being stalked by a wolf before resorting to bear spray to fend off the animal.

As a frequent visitor to Yellowstone National Park, I've seen some crazy stuff go down while in the park. I've seen tourists interacting too closely with park animals, but until this week, I'd never seen a tourist-wolf interaction in broad daylight.

A visitor to the Yellowstone on Sunday, August 23, started filming a man walking in an undisclosed area of the park being tailed by a wolf. The footage is extraordinary, as wolves are rarely seen in daylight hours.

Yellowstone Park Hiker Sprays Wolf In Face With Bear Spray

If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, I wouldn't believe it. A Yellowstone National Park visitor actually sprays a wolf in the face at just a couple of feet away from the animal.

The person shooting the video sounds nervous as the animal follows closely behind the hiker for several minutes before the man notices he's being stalked.

'Dude! Dude! It's right with him, the man filming the footage can be heard saying. 'It's like it's his dog.'

Yellowstone Park Wolf Turns Away After Getting Sprayed With Bear Spray

A big plume of spray can be seen in the video shortly before the wolf turns away only to start following the man again a short time later. The unidentified hiker is lucky he had bear spray on him, or this video could have ended very badly for the park visitor.
