VIDEO: Idaho, NV, OR, WA Residents Report Massive Green Fireball

Several Idaho, Oregon, and Washington residents reported a bright, large green fireball streaking overhead on the evening of October 14. A meteor shower has been active in North America over the past few days, and the object is thought to be a larger chunk of space debris that strayed off course.

Activity on the North Idaho News Meta page spiked into Thursday morning (October 15) with numerous witnesses sharing their experiences. The Southern Taurid Meteor Shower, nicknamed the 'Halloween Fireballs,'  should peak tonight in the northwestern United States, according to space.com.

Doorbell camera footage from Nevada also showed a large meteor streaking over a freeway and disappearing over a small mountain range.

'I live in Nevada and just checked my cameras from that time frame and caught a little bit of it. Watch the top camera middle of the screen,' said the woman who shared the impressive footage.

'My husband and I saw one streak through the sky in flames between Sagle and Athol. It was beautiful,' said another witness to Wednesday night's meteor display.

Multiple reports came from Idaho, east of Spokane.
