What Would You Do If Idaho Got a Professional Sports Team?

What would you do? What would you do if Idaho got a professional sports team? Would you abandon the team you cheer for now, or would you continue to cheer for your current team? Does it depend on which sport the professional team plays as to what you choose? Would you go from being a Raiders fan, a Seahawks fan, or a Broncos fan and cheer on the new Idaho team? Would you stop being a Nuggets, Lakers, or Warriors fan for a new NBA team? If Idaho were to bring in some sort of professional sports team, as a fan what would you do?

Most sports fans grow up cheering on a certain team. It can be because their family likes the team, their favorite player likes the team, geographical, or several other reasons. Most sports fans are loyal and no matter how good or bad their team is, they stay a fan and let it be known who their team is. There is such a thing as a bandwagon fan who will only cheer for the teams that are currently winning and will jump from team to team, and have no loyalty to any fan base or team. That is where the tough decision comes in, If Idaho got a team do you stay loyal or jump to the new home team?

Would a Professional Idaho Sports Team be Supported?

Idaho is unlikely to get a professional sports team anytime soon, but if they did, would you leave the team you support, would you cheer for both, or would you continue to cheer on your team? The sport could matter, as perhaps you have a team you love in one sport but your team in another is one you like, only because there isn't a better option. If you are from Idaho, pride would likely play a factor as the new team would represent your home state, but if living here and not from here, would you cheer the local team or stick to perhaps your hometown team?

This is a situation I can relate to, as I am from Oklahoma and grew up a Lakers fan. In 2008 the Settle Supersonics moved to Oklahoma City and became the OKC Thunder. The first season was a little odd, cheering for the Lakers and the Thunder, but when they met in the playoffs the following year, it was all Thunder for me. The transition might not happen overnight but likely state pride would take over, but not everyone would be able to stop cheering for their old team. If Idaho got a professional sports team of some sort when it comes to what team to cheer for, what would you do?
