Employees seem to have more power than ever before. That doesn't mean you can't be fired and shouldn't fear losing your job, but over the last few years, it seems that employees have gained a little more control. One of the reasons for this, is unlike in the past, if employees' demands aren't met they will quit on their own and try their hand at something else. The amount of resignations across the country has been on the rise over the last few years, and it has many CEOs and businesses fearing how to fill these jobs. When it comes to employees resigning, which state is seeing the most, which is seeing the least, and how does Idaho compare to them?

Last year a story was written about states with the highest and lowest resignation rates, and Alaska was the job with the highest rate. WalletHub has released a new list, and Louisiana now takes the title for seeing more resignations than any other state. Their monthly rate is up to 3.7%, and over the last year has been at 3.52%. South Carolina comes in second with a resignation percentage of 3.5% over the last month and 3.38% over the last year. Coming in third is Georgia, at 3% over the last month and 3.78% over the last year. The state with the lowest resignation rate is Massachusetts at 1.3% over the last month and 1.99% over the last year.

On last year's list, Idaho came in high on the list at 14, with a resignation rate of 3.1% in the previous month and 3.35% over the previous year. On the new list, Idaho has improved significantly, dropping down to 23, having a resignation rate of 2.3% over the last month, and lowering the yearly rate down to 3.21%. This is encouraging to see more and more Idahoans sticking with their jobs and to see the Gem State climb 9 spots on the list, in the right direction. Perhaps the people in Idaho are happier or perhaps they need the money as the cost of everything continues to go up, but whatever the reason Idahoans are resigning less than last year. No matter how much you get fed up it is better to keep your job. Hopefully, Idaho will continue to move in the right direction on the list as the rate lowers more and more.
