Playground and Splash Pad Reconstruction

The installation of a new playground surface is expected to be finished by June 1, with the splash pad reconstruction projected to be completed by June 15. Mayor Ruth Pierce expressed optimism about the timeline, stating,

We know the splash pad is a hugely popular recreation area during the summer, so we’re hoping to have both it and the playground reopened by mid-June.

Funding a City Park and Splash Pad is Not Cheap

First Federal Bank President and CEO Jason Meyerhoeffer:

For nearly a decade, the park has served Twin Falls and the broader community, becoming a favorite gathering spot. It has especially developed into a destination for families and children, seeing extensive use and enjoyment. This popularity, over the years, has necessitated the planned updates,' said Meyerhoeffer.

The City of Twin Falls and First Federal Bank are both contributing funds to complete the projects. The City has allocated $369,000 in recovery funds known as SLFRF, while First Federal has contributed $60,000.

Historical Significance of First Federal Bank Park

First Federal Bank donated the park to the City of Twin Falls in 2015. The park features an all-inclusive playground and the first splash pad in Twin Falls. This is not the first time the park and splash pad and park have undergone maintenance; in the summer of 2023, the splash pad was temporarily shut down for repairs due to damage.
