Twin Falls City Council Votes NO to Backwards Parking… For Now
Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) Parking in Downtown Twin Falls will remain as is… for now.On Tuesday the Twin Falls City Council voted unanimously to turn down the concept of Back-In parking for the downtown area.
Citizens and business owners from the downtown community voiced their concerns with this concept, and the council was listening with open ears.
After a 2 hour public comment period, the council voted to turn down the back-in concept and keep what is currently in place.
But a few minor changes were made to the design of the future downtown parking structure.
Once re-built, downtown parking will consist of 12 foot-wide driving lanes and 13 foot-wide side-walks with front-in parking.
Along with this decision, the council also requested an amendment that would allow any future City Council the option to take another look at back-in parking down the road.
